Part 3: Power of Submission
Video Clip reffered to in teaching: view
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
The word SUBMIT, according to Strong’s Lexicon is the Greek word hoopo-tasso,
which was originally a Greek military term meaning “to arrange troop divisions under the command of a leader”. In non-military use, it was “a voluntary attitude of giving in, of cooperating, of sharing a burden. In other words, when the word submit is used in the Bible, it refers not only to a yielding and obedient attitude of the heart, but also, and equally importantly, to an attitude of co-operation and support
Eph 5:16-23 Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! (17) Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. (18) Don't drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him. (19) Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. (20) Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ. (21) Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another. (22) Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. (23) The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing.

[Free Bible Version and Commentary on Ephesians in simple English]
Collaboration is a recursive process where two or more people or organizations work together in an intersection of common goals
Mutual submission is the key to the different parts of the body of Christ working together in harmony (Phil 2v2 ) and to the understanding of Christian community
– Vineyard values of relationship and the individual (respect and the maintaining of the dignity of the person… everyone counts) every part of body working together for the common good… ‘collaboration’
Goes against the spirit of this age (Eph 6) of individualism and using submission as a tool to make one’s self important and to get ahead.
In marriage, each partner is to be an encourager rather than a critic, a forgiver rather than a collector of hurts, an enabler rather than a reformer.
--H. Norman Wright and Gary J. Oliver
Biblical submission is motivated by faith, hope, and love which will always result in self-sacrifice, the perfect role model being the example of JESUS.
